The International Expert Meeting of the Fifth Global Congree of Imam Reza (pbuh)
According to Astan News, Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian talked about Imam Reza (pbuh) with respect and affection in his speech, and spoke on the topic of "tolerance and respect for human dignity and strategies to strengthen coexistence for the establishment of inclusive justice".
The archbishop of the Armenian Diocese of Tehran said: Such meetings bring together the followers of different religions and open new ways and paths for us. In my opinion, we are all on the right path because we have gathered in this gathering to have a new experience, which is the right way to live. In fact, wherever there is love, affection and friendship, it shows that our way is also the right way.
He emphasized: undoubtedly, anyone who seeks to achieve peace in the society, regardless of social trends, is on the path of righteousness and flows truth, and we all know that the main goal of religions is to root love in the hearts of followers and expand social ties.
Angels of heaven hail on the occasion of Imam Reza's birthday
With a gentle interpretation of the congratulation of the angels of heavens for the birth of Imam Reza, peace be upon him, the archbishop recited a poem and said: Imam Ali, peace be upon him, considered people to be of two types: either they are your brothers or your equals in creation, and we must strive to achieve peace as the followers of the One God.
He said: The Holy Qur'an says, “we have created you from men and women from different tribes, and the best of you in the sight of God is the most pious of you”. Therefore, history tells us that hatred and oppression cannot lead us to a society where peace flows. Referring to Iran's historical and civilizational conditions, he said: In this regard, history says that the Middle East has always been the cradle of civilizations due to the very difficult conditions it has gone through, and Iran has always been known for its multi-religious characteristics. Dialogue between religions should become our daily style, that is, paying attention to others in order to achieve a desirable society, and true dialogue between people should take place by accepting religion, and it should become a heroic behavior, and we should all strive in this direction.
Archbishop Sarkissian continued: the religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam have a historical connection with each other that empowers them for a better life. The Middle East has always witnessed difficult conditions and various wars and conflicts have been going on in it, but these conditions have not changed and the conditions are ready for the connection. Today, the region is witnessing developments that no one expected, and that has been the emergence of discord in different religions.
Referring to the events of recent years in the Middle East region, he continued: Extremism emerged in the form of revolutions, which is referred to as the Arab Spring, but did this Arab Spring lead us to a better life?
In this context, he said: Undoubtedly, the issue of economy and globalization has a tangible effect on the lives of the people of the Middle East, and we should try to make the people of the region turn differences and conflicts into a constructive dialogue. We have been called to change the atmosphere towards dialogue and understanding and to try to remove hatreds and prejudices and to move to common areas and organize this constructive dialogue based on that.
We deserve to look at the past as we look at the future, and history teaches us how to live.
In the end, he pointed to the experience of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: The country of Iran has always been distinct and its characteristic has been the plurality of religions and peace in it.
